Peer Support Scholarship Initiative
CABHC offers a financial scholarship to qualified individuals who are interested in becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply to receive a scholarship to attend Peer Support training classes. The Scholarship will cover the cost of training. Recipients are responsible for additional costs, including but not limited to; travel and lodging. Qualified individuals who are interested in applying to receive a scholarship for certification training must complete and meet eligibility requirements and attend a virtual interview.
Interested individuals should download and complete the application, and return it with a copy of your resume and letter of recommendation. The Member Relations Specialist will contact you to verify eligibility and schedule an interview. Please allow two to three weeks for this process to be completed.
The Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) provides certification for Peer Specialists as a way of assuring competence to peers, to the public, and to employers. The qualifications to become a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), include a mix of experience, education and a passing score on the certification examination. Details on the process can be found here.
